WELCOME!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Welp, we talked it up long enough, and now Nick and I have finally jumped to the next stage of our careers, with Art Fight High School.

As we’re jumping to more detail per page (Nick’s drawing on a larger scale, with COLOR now, to boot), we’re dropping to a twice-weekly update format (Tuesdays and Thursdays).  But I promise you we will be as on top of updates as we were in the prime of DoS.

In the meantime, thanks for joining us. Kick up your shoes…mind the dust as we finish up the site, and get ready for a ride…Class is in session.

Ghostfreehood Wins Aquabats Contest!

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Have you seen us? We, indeed summon AWESOME FORCES! I won the Aquabats Holiday Poster Contest. Woo!

Check out the Aquabats Myspace to see the other winners and I displayed proudly. Totally sweet! My poster will be displayed on the main stage during the show at the Black Cat in Washington DC on November 17th. I thought I read somewhere that there would be prints available at the show. I’ll have to check up on that. There are still tickets available if you want to come and experience the magic. So awesome.

THE SYSTEM Hits 100!

Monday, December 1st, 2008

A special blog of congrats to our good buddy Ross Nover over at The System.

For those unaware, Ross is sort of responsible for Nick and I getting involved in the Webcomics Community back when Dead of Summer was in it’s infancy, and in turn I’ve always felt a little indebted to him.

Sure, he hit some snags on The Rockets, but now with The System, he’s 100 comics deep, and we’re pretty damn proud.

So, spend an afternoon with some hilarious comics. Read yourself some System.

Nerdcore Rises Up in B-More!

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Hey gang, you looking for an awesome evening?

Why don’t you head to the Ottobar on Wednesday, December 10th?  We (being “Art Fight”) booked a little nerdcore rap show with some people you might’ve heard of.

Who, exactly?  Only MC FRONTALOT, MC LARS and YTCracker!

If that wasn’t radtastical enough, opening the bill is our good buddies in Karmella’s Game!

Seriously, I defy you to find a better bill for $10.

So in short, Wednesday night, head to the Ottobar, and get your nerdcore on. We’ll be there. Will you?

Random Updates!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Just some new information headed your way for you and yours to share alike.

First and formost, thank you to everyone who came out for last night’s show with MC Frontalot and MC Lars.  We here at Art Fight High School (as well as Super Art Fight) were super jazzed at the turnout, and hope everyone had as good an evening as we did.

This of course takes us to our next big event, Super Art Fight III: Turbo, which will be coming at you live on next Saturday, December 20th at the Ottobar.  As the date is inching closer (NINE DAYS TO GO!), we’re updating with last minute details and articles over at SuperArtFight.com, the first of which is a look at the ultra mysterious “Comic Boys”, who will be the 2nd musical act for the show.  Check out that article here.  Something tells me you might know who they are.

In any case, thanks again for coming out last night, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the 20th. Cheers!

How big has SAF become?  Well, now the lords of Nerdcore are breathing down our neck, as seen in this video starring MC Lars and YT Cracker.  It’s more than words can describe. Check it out.

EDIT: Also, I would be remiss if I did not mention that the official SUGGESTION POST is now live. Go forth! Suggest! Make it happen!

We’re Heading To Katsu!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Yep, we classy folks who run this site (peep the headshot!) won’t just be spreading our wares at MAGFest this weekend, we’ll be making it a hat-trick, as we’re guests of Katsucon for the 3rd year running.

This will be the first con for Nick and I post-Dead of Summer, so we’ll be shilling all sorts of wares at the official “Ghostfreehood Alliance” table.

What type of wares, you ask? Well, keep your eyes locked into the Class Bullietins section here at Art Fight High School, and you’ll see.

Let’s just say…all of our projects will be well represented.

So, February 13-15, Crystal City, Virgina–GET READY TO BE ROCKED.
